Peyton Williams Manning
Venus and Serena Williams, Ronde and Tiki Barber, Jeremy and Jason Giambi, Ramon and Pedro Martinez, Cheryl and Reggie Miller, that’s just a short list of the famous sport’s siblings. Now to the most talked about brothers, especially this past week, Eli and Peyton Manning.  One will only see this match up every four years, so the intensity and momentum up to this
match up was indescribable.  Sons of the former NFL New Orleans Saints quarterback,
Archie Manning, both brothers are quite the over achievers because according to the NFL Players Association, 1 in 3400 high school football players will end up signing an NFL contract so the fact both Manning's made it and are also starting QBs is a rarity. What a legacy that was passed down and is continuing to unfold and make a more concrete stamp on the wonderful world of football. Both born in New Orleans, Louisiana, they both had a passion for football at an early age. Obviously both followed in their famous dad’s footsteps, but to be able have the accolades both have achieved; it gives the family name a whole new meaning. Eli Manning went to play college football in University of Mississippi, and then at the NFL draft 2004, he was first overall pick by the San Diego Chargers, and immediately traded to the New York Giants, he won MVP and Super Bowl XLII in 08, all to say it was his fate to be on a winning team and be able to build up his career on hard work and dedication and of course the gift of being able to have a passion for what he loves. Now, let’s move on to the older brother, Peyton. He was drafted first overall pick in 1998 after a standout career with the Tennessee Volunteers. He is considered one of the best quarterbacks of all time; he holds the record for the MOST NFL MVP awards with four! Manning holds NFL records for consecutive seasons with over 4,000 yards passing and the most total seasons with 4,000 or more yards passing in a career. Manning holds the third-highest career passer rating (95.5) behind only Steve Young (96.8) and Phillip Rivers (96.2). He is the all-time Colts franchise leader in career wins, career passing yards, pass attempts, pass completions, and passing touchdowns. Now to the Sunday night football game we were all anxiously awaiting and anticipating. The brothers could breathe a sigh of relief because this year the media frenzy was only just a few days before the big game instead of the 5 month anticipation and built up stress that occurred last time these two were head to head four years ago. From the beginning the emotion was felt there at the stadium, from the fans to the Manning family, it was by far the most nerve-wrecking game to watch. But as most of you saw, Peyton had no mercy on his little bro, he went all out and he proved to leave family ties in the back of his mind and focus more on the game at hand. Victory prevailed for the Colts winning 38-14, for sure bragging rights in the Manning household. At the end of the day tough loss, but their bond will always remain. Whether it’s a win or a loss, the brothers will always have each other’s back and they will continue to learn from each other. Nothing can stop these two brothers from achieving amazing heights but when it comes to accomplishing goals and being the best in your sport, it’s a great feeling to know you’ll be able to share the same excitement with your family. Goes to show, football is just a game and fame is just fame, having support and your brother as your number one fan, priceless.
